Kemble Grand Piano
We invite you to enjoy the beautiful Kemble sound of our KC173 Conservatoire grand- the result of a piano making tradition dating back almost a century. Our tradition is based on craftsmanship, superior technology, design and the painstaking selection of choice materials.
The KC173 comes with many tone enriching features including a duplex scale (which tunes the non “speaking” length of the strings and enriches primary tones with complementary harmonics), and a metal “tone collector”. The tone collector connects the back posts to the piano frame, and reflects the sound energy back through the piano case to give a fuller and more sustained resonance. In addition, the keybed is incorporated into the sound producing part of the grand and the highest quality solid spruce tonewood is used to make the soundboard. Lighter treble hammer shanks (Barrel-shaped) further improve dynamic and tonal response. Craftsmen sensitively regulate, tune and voice each grand to obtain the optimum expression.
The Kemble touch
The use of its superb world class action, built to extremely fine tolerances, combined with individually weighted and laser levelled spruce keys, produce an extraordinarily responsive instrument, which will provide years of trouble free playing. A sostenuto pedal comes as standard.
Comfort and safety
Each KC173 comes with a soft close system for the fall, and a safety stop for the 3 position prop stick. The music desk is at a comfortable eye level and has 5 different positions.
Design
Available in classic black polyester, the subtle elegance of the grand is enhanced with its profiled top, contoured music tray and spade legs.
Durability and tuning stability
Our KC173 is built to provide years of playing pleasure. Its durability is assured thanks to the use of high quality structural components and design .The rim is made from layers of select wood glued together in special hydraulic presses; backposts are set in a radial arrangement and fitted to the rim with exceptionally strong dovetail joints. Lathe cut, nickel plated tuning pins are inserted into tuning planks (made from layers of dense hardwood sealed against humidity changes) in order to give enhanced tuning stability.

These create fine pianos long appreciated by discerning and exacting pianists.
