Where did this expression originate?
When the bourgeois culture, as it was called, still decided what belonged in the parlor, "the Bechstein" was often among the furnishings, almost as a matter of course, just as piano lessons were part of one's upbringing. Even if some of these values have been lost by now, a Bechstein grand piano still carries the legend and the aura of a great musical epoch. And since Bechstein has again been a continuous presence in the musical world for some years, the Bechstein grand piano has found a link to its history and its significance. This is a rare development, seemingly against the trend of our times. But if we take a closer look, behind it lies the longing for beauty in sound, and for the identity of a part of German, even of European cultural history, which achieved a reputation across the world.
Current grand pianos, meeting all the requirements of our present times.
Bechstein grand pianos have been further developed in recent years in line with the requirements of international artists and stages. In discussions with the best technicians, experienced and committed concert pianists, a legend has been "re-worked". The result: Bechstein is again to be found on concert podiums, highly regarded by sought-after pianists, the leading lights of the musical "scene".
A convincing soul:
The sound - the playing action – the dynamics – the depth of tone. When you sit down at your Bechstein, you will find that you feel right at home! A sound rich in colour, full of nuances. A playing action with exactly the right balance; firm and effortless, without strain, always reliable, and with the finest control over all the dynamic steps. Great depth of musical expression. Strength and volume.
